Mycotoxins are considered as secondary metabolites of fungi, which exhibit various effects (carcinogenic, teratogenic, mutagenic, estrogenic, and immunotoxic effects) on humans and animals. In view of this, significant attention has been received on the screening of foodstuff and feed materials as per the regulations of food safety and quality control authorities. This chapter summarizes the development of nanoparticle-integrated electrochemical devices for identification and quantification of mycotoxins in various food samples. We will highlight the analytical applications of nanomaterials (carbon-based nanostructures, metal and metal oxide nanoparticles)-modified electrodes in electrochemical sensing of mycotoxins in various food samples. Overall we aim to explore the promising applications of nanomaterial-integrated electrochemical devices for assaying of mycotoxins in food samples. © 2020 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
