피터 드러커의 경영철학과 교양교육: 『경영의 실제』를 중심으로

초록

This study analyzes the impact of the management philosophy shown in Peter Drucker's 『The Practice of Management』 on ESG management and its implications for business-related liberal education at universities. Drucker defines an enterprise as a human and social organization that exists for the market and customers and as a ‘social institution’ belonging to society and community. Drucker argued that the ‘maximizing profit’ theory should be discarded, and that managers should target ‘minimum essential profit’ that makes the company sustainable. Drucker also criticized one-man owner management and emphasized the board's independence and critical functions. Above all, the biggest contribution to Drucker's management philosophy is to make it clear that managers should pursue corporate interests in the process of fulfilling their social responsibilities.
