중국 젊은 무용 지도자의 노인 무용교육 경험사례 분석

Purpose: By analysing the teaching experiences of young Chinese dance instructors in elderly dance education activities, this study aims to explore the factors that facilitate or hinder their participation in elderly dance education. It also aims to provide a new direction for elderly dance education by presenting the findings as a source of support and change for elderly dance instructors and for the implementation of elderly dance education policies. Methods: The participants of this study are four dance instructors, aged 23 to 25 years old, who are currently engaged in ongoing elderly field activities at a Chinese university for the elderly, and who have more than 10 years of professional dance education and at least three years of experience in teaching dance to the elderly. Result: The instructors’ perception of their roles in the elderly dance education process was identified in the following order: ‘instructor transmitting knowledge and normative movements’, ‘companion emphasizing communication and encouragement’, ‘instructor growing alongside learners’, and ‘researcher and developer of teaching materials’. Young instructors cited ‘realization of self-worth and happiness gained through students’ interest’, ‘sense of achievement from student development’, and ‘satisfaction with low job stress’ as reasons for their sustained commitment to elderly education. An analysis of the challenges and coping strategies experienced by instructors in the field revealed that ‘enhanced promotion and recruitment’ and ‘lowering the age of leadership personnel’ were among the solutions implemented to strengthen future elderly dance education. Conclusion: This study is crucial to raise awareness of dance instructors, motivate young instructors, and promote their career development. It is also necessary to identify the support and changes needed for dance instructors to encourage more young teachers to commit to the field of elderly dance instructing. Therefore, this study should provide empirical data for the improvement of elderly dance education and related policy formulation, and is expected to be a valuable reference for the development of elderly education in other countries and various regions.
