Although the development of smart supply chain management (Smart SCM) has been widely studied, the integration of smart technologies with green practices in SCM remains relatively unexplored. This study addresses the growing trend of merging smart and green supply chain management (Green SCM) in manufacturing firms, emphasising the need for dynamic technological capabilities (DTC) to facilitate this integration. This study develops and empirically tests a model that examines the impact of DTC on Smart Green SCM, focusing on external relationships and internal operations, and explores how these practices affect sustainable performance. Based on survey data from 294 exporting manufacturing SMEs in China, our analysis confirms that DTC significantly enhance both external and internal Smart Green SCM practices and that both dimensions improve sustainable performance. In addition, external relationships are found to positively influence internal operations. These findings highlight the importance of building DTC and strategically integrating smart and green practices to achieve sustainable outcomes, especially for SMEs in emerging economies.
