초록

Ultrasmall fluorescent nanomaterials (metal nanoclusters (NCs) and carbon dots (CDs)) have become promising materials in sensing of various chemical species and bioimaging of various cells. This chapter summarizes the synthesis, properties, and applications of ultrasmall fluorescent nanomaterials (metal NC and CDs). This chapter consists of two main sections: one section overviews the metal NCs (Au, Pt, Ag, and Cu) synthesis, properties, and applications for sensing and imaging of various molecules. The second section is completely dedicated to synthesis, properties, and applications (sensing, bioimaging and drug delivery) of CDs. © 2022 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
