초록

In his book, Because A Philosophical Study on the Meaning of ‘Because’, Professor Hwan Sunwoo presented a theory that I called the ‘Simple counterfactual dependence theory of ‘because’’. I have argued that his theory cannot be a complete theory of explanation and cannot capture the ordinary meaning of 'because'. In response to my criticism, Professor Sunwoo defended his theory in various ways in his recent paper. Here, I argue that his objection, despite some plausible points, cannot be a genuine answer to my criticism.
