예술교육연구 “지역연계 예술융합교육의 필요성 연구”

초록

In an era where artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the world, a revolutionary change in the education system is necessary to cultivate future-oriented talent. For over 70 years, South Korea's education system has relied on rote learning to efficiently educate many people, which was crucial for the nation's rapid growth as a developing country after the Korean War. This rote and hierarchical education system has persisted due to the entrance exam structure and the focus on grades. However, South Korea has now become an advanced country in education through rapid growth, and the emergence of AI has accelerated the pace of change. With the decline in the school-age population due to low birth rates, the increase in school closures, and the concentration of 50% of the population in the metropolitan area, leading to serious social issues of rural depopulation, a significant change in the education system is also needed. The effects of arts education have been proven through prior research, and it is gradually expanding from 'education for the arts' to 'education through the arts.' This paper aims to study the necessity of community-connected, arts-integrated convergence education. Through arts-based, community-connected, and interdisciplinary convergence education, the goal is to achieve the educational objectives desired at the national level and to cultivate members of society who fulfill the global educational goals of cooperation, collaboration, inclusiveness, and responsibility. Through this study, we aim to demonstrate the necessity of arts-integrated convergence education and hope to lay the foundation for overcoming regional extinction and establishing a new education system through future-oriented education.
