Spectral tuning of an add-drop filter by using double dielectric microdisks

A spectrally tunable add-drop filter based on a whispering gallery mode in a double dielectric microdisk pair with an air gap is proposed, and its operation process and performance are demonstrated by finite-difference time-domain simulation. © 2015 IEEE.
