An Integrative Analysis of Games and Affect Research: Focusing on Affective Game Computing and Feedback Loop Types

초록

Interaction between games and affect is core to the player experience, yet research faces inherent interdisciplinary complexity. This study surveys research trends within Affective Game Computing (AGC) via keyword network analysis. It further performs an in-depth comparative analysis of three core affective feedback loop types: Cognitive-based Consequence Loop, Behavior-based Affective Loop, and Physiological Signal-based Affective Game Loop, clarifying their operating principles, characteristics, and limitations. Based on this analysis, the paper provides a framework for an integrated understanding of this research field and proposes future research directions.
