초록

This study aimed to examine the levels of hand hygiene knowledge, perception, attitude, and performance among guardians and paid-caregivers of inpatients in small to medium hospitals, and to identify the factors influencing hand hygiene performance. A descriptive correlational study was conducted with 156 participants using a self-administered questionnaire. Statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlations coefficients, and multiple regression. Hand hygiene performance was significantly associated with hand hygiene attitude (β=.492, p<.001), hand hygiene perception (β=2.256, p<.001), daily use of hand sanitizers (β=.190, p=.002), and relationship with the patients (β=.131, p=.021), which collectively explained 59.1% of the variance in performance. These findings suggest that educational and tailored intervention programs focusing on enhancing hand hygiene attitude and perception are necessary to improve hand hygiene performance among guardians and paid-caregivers.
