중학교 여학생 학교스포츠클럽대회 참여경험정도가 자아존중감, 학교소속감, 학교생활만족도에 미치는 영향

초록

The objective of this study was to examine the effect of middle school girl’s participation in school sports club tournaments on self-esteem, school belonging and school life satisfaction and then look into the relationship between these variables. For this, the data of 510 first-, second- and third-year girl students at 10 middle schools in Seoul were collected. Collected data were statistically processed using the SPSS V. 21.0 program and frequency analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA and post hoc test were conducted. In addition, in order to examine the relationship between variables, structural equation model analysis was carried out. Study findings are as follows: Regarding the effect of middle school girl's participation in school sports club tournaments on self-esteem, school belonging and school life satisfaction, participant's self-esteem, school belonging and school life satisfaction were greater than those of non-participants and the effect was proportional to whether or not take part in, participation frequency, participation period and whether or not win prizes. In addition, this study's relationship model that participant's degree of participation would have effects on self-esteem and school belonging, whereas self-esteem and school belonging would enhance school life satisfaction was verified to be valid. In conclusion, this study seems to be significant in that study findings verified the hypothesis that girl student's participation in school sports club tournaments would play an important role in the improvement of self-esteem, school belonging and school life satisfaction.
