The purpose of this study is to examine smart-phone overuse level in the 6th-grade elementary school children regarding the recent growth in the excessive use of smart-phone in elementary school students, and to figure out which influence the smart-phone literacy in elementary school students' mothers have upon children's smart-phone overuse. This study analyzed by carrying out questionnaire targeting totally 408 people with 204 sixth-grade elementary school children and 204 mothers in Seoul and Gyeonggi. For analyzing the collected data, frequency percentage, Pearson‘s correlation analysis, and Multiple regression analysis were computed using SPSS program. As the results of this study, first, Among sub-factors of smart-phone overuse, tolerance score was shown to be the highest. The score of smart-phone overuse was indicated to be in order of abstinence, living discomfort/maladjustment, compulsion/obsession. Second, elementary schoolers' mothers' smart-phone literacy was indicated to have influence upon children's smart-phone overuse. It was shown that the higher in mothers' smart-phone communication literacy leads to the higher in abstinence, tolerance, compulsion/obsession, and living discomfort/maladjustment in children's smart- phone overuse.
