품질경영과 4차 산업혁명 전자기술의 연계: 인공지능(AI)과 스마트팩토리 기술을 중심으로

Purpose: Our first goal of this study was to verify whether the quality management practices of Chinese firms positively affect corporate performance by conducting surveys on a sample consisting of 327 companies. Our second goal was to determine if implementing artiificial intelligence(AI) and Smart Factory technologies, the two important technologies in Industry 4.0, had a positive moderating effect on the relationship between quality management practices and corporate performance. Composition/Logic: After checking the statistical validity and reliability of variables used in the first and the second research models to achieve the two goals, we used a simple regression model to verify the relationship between quality management practices and corporate performance. Additionally, we implemented moderate or hierarchical regression models to verify the moderate effect of implementing AI and Smart Factory technologies respectively. Findings: In the first stage of this study, we found the quality management practices positively affected corporate performances. Second, implementing AI technology had a positive moderating effect on the relationship between quality management practices and corporate performance, while Smart Factory technology did not. Originality/Value: This research provides a new direction for studies on quality management practices and Industry 4.0 technologies not prevalent in existing studies by linking the two. We suggest that firms wanting to improve performance need to invest in and to make effort in quality management practices and to implement Smart Factory technology simultaneously.
