인터넷은 자유로운 정보교류의 장소인가?: 사회적 요인과 정보추구 성향이 온라인 정보교류에 미치는 영향

초록

This study explores the role of social factors and individuals’ characteristics on the online information seeking process. For that purpose, an experiment was conducted with students in two different classes in which they exchanged information online using a specially constructed web site. It was found that information subjects, social network, ego network density, and information seeking tendency exerted different influences on withing-group and between-group information processes. More specifically, the role of social factors became more important in exchanging technology-related information while the role of information seeking tendency became more important in exchanging design-related information.
