중등 영어과 예비교사의 융합수업 역량 강화를 위한 사범대학 교과목 개선 실행연구

초록

This study aimed to renovate a course at the college of education inorder to develop pre-service English teachers’ competence to designand implement convergence lessons at secondary schools. FollowingKemmis and McTaggart’s action research cycles, this study revised andimplemented the course twice. In the first implementation, pre-serviceEnglish teachers were engaged in three weeks of collaboration withpre-service Physical Education teachers to develop English-P.E lessons. The post-course questionnaire survey showed that the participants cameto think about the meaning and ways of convergence education for thefirst time and that this experience was perceived to be fresh, interesting,and helpful. However, several problems were also identified, such asinsufficient preparation time and incompatibility between P.E. and English. Furthermore, the analysis of the developed lessons revealed overallsuperficial convergence of the two subjects and lack of applicability tosecondary schools. To solve these problems, the course was revised againto provide longer preparation time, free choice of the subject to convergewith English, and in-service teachers’ lecture and mentoring. The revisedcourse was implemented in the following year with another group ofpre-service English teachers. The results of the second implementationwere presented with further suggestions.
