직장어린이집 석식에 대한 교사와 부모의 경험과 인식

초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the experience and awareness of teachers and parents on the dinner at the workplace childcare centers (WCC), children’s eyes on the dinner at WCC, and the right direction of the dinner at WCC. Ten teachers and three parents from WCC experiencing the dinner were recruited. Data were collected during April, 2021 through Focus Group Interviews which were conducted with three independent groups and each group was contacted twice. The results showed that first, the dinner at WCC was considered as strenuous as war by teachers while parents were able to spend a relaxed time with their children due to the dinner. Thus, teachers regarded the dinner as the time that faded the meaning of mealtime whereas parents considered as the opportunity to lessen their sense of guilt as working parents. Second, teachers noticed that children having the dinner at WCC counted the dinner as a penalty and were concerned about the negative aspects of the dinner on children’s development while parents were not. However, both parents and teachers agreed on the point that they were so sorry for the children who were missing their family dinner experiences. Third, teachers expected the improved dinner circumstances by providing the obvious criteria for eligibility of the dinner and the education applying the characteristics of the dinner at WCC. Parents, on the other hand, suggested creating an organizational culture that allows the freedom to freely use family-friendly policies in the workplace and supporting meal kits for working parents as alternative ways to the dinner at WCC. The results of this study suggest the experience and awareness of teachers and parents on the dinner at WCC and the points of the dinner to be discussed, and also, the results indirectly show the children’s experiences on the dinner.
