Brief comments on the currently published content and the respective corrections. It was found that Figure 4 published in this paper is the same as Figure 4 in a paper related to avian β-defensin 5 published by the same author in the journal “Research in Veterinary Science” around the same time (2020, October 2020,132: 81-87). This is because the experiments were conducted around the same time, and due to confusion in the image data, the figure related to avian β-defensin 5 was found to have been published in Poultry Science, so we would like to replace it with the original figure image of avian β-defensin 8. © 2025
